Filippo Vadi and the Author’s Humility

I was working on my notes for Vadi when I came across this passage, which concludes his introduction.

And should this booklet of min fall into the hands of someone learned in the art, and should it seem to him that there is anything superfluous or lacking, then he might cut, lessen, or augment what he deems necessary, as from now I put myself under his correction and censure.

I can think of no better expression of the Author’s Humility nor greater trust in the ability and willingness of future generations to improve upon what came before.
